2011
Brooke is currently finishing
her new original CD, "For You", which is being released in early
May. The CD is produced by Grammy Award winning guitarist and
producer Will Ackerman, and features world-class musicians Tony
Levin (Peter Gabriel, James Taylor, John Lennon), Jeff Pevar
(Crosby Stills & Nash, Marc Cohn, Ray Charles), and Aaron Sterling
(John Mayer). The CD is available for pre-order in
the Online Store.
May 22 -- Brooke is opening for the legendary Peter Asher and his
show, "A Musical Memoir of the 60s and Beyond".
2010
In the past few years Comedy
Central continues to feature Brooke's song "I Wanted You to Know",
which has become a fan favorite and now has a cult following around
the world.
Brooke performed
at The Coach House with Raul Malo (February 26), Judy Collins (March
21), Nanci Griffith (April 23), Bill Medley (May 7), and Colin Hay
(October 6).
August 5 -- Brooke performed with Lisa Loeb at
The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA.
Brooke met Will Ackerman while performing at a
close friend's wedding over Memorial Day weekend. He invited her
to come to Vermont to his home and studio to make a new album and
offered to produce the project. Will Ackerman is a Grammy Award
Winner and founder of Windham Hill Records. He has produced
George Winston, Michael Hedges, and more than 70 artists in his
career.
In the fall Brooke spent nearly three weeks in
Vermont recording all new original songs. She teamed with Jeff
Pevar on Guitar (who recording credit include Jackson Browne, Ray
Charles, Shawn Colvin, David Crosby, Carly Simon, James Taylor, and
Graham Nash) and Tony Levin on bass (who has recorded with Peter
Gabriel, Sarah McLachlan, David Bowie, Judy Collins, Paula Cole, Karen
Carpenter, Tracy Chapman, and more). The new album will be
released in early 2011.
December 12 -- Brooke debuted many of her new
songs with her full band at a holiday show at The Coach House.
2009
Brooke's song
"Make Tomorrow Up" is featured in the film "Sunshine Cleaning",
released in theaters March 27, and on DVD in August.

April 9 -- Brooke performed at
an NSAI Songwriter's Night at Hallenbeck's & Cahuenga General Store.
NSAI is the Nashville Songwriter's Association International.
June 11 -- Brooke performed with
J.D. Souther and Jill Sobule at The Coach House. J.D. Souther is
a songwriter who has worked with The Eagles ("Heartache Tonight",
"Best of My Love", "New Kid in Town"), James Taylor ("Her Town Too"),
Linda Rondstadt, and countless others. Earlier in the year she
opened for Little River Band ("Reminiscing", "Lonesome Loser", "Lady")
at The Coach House.
Brooke performed two shows with
her band members at the acclaimed Coffee Gallery Backstage in
Altadena, CA.
June 27 -- Brooke
and her band opened for Chris Botti at the first concert in the Lake
Mission Viejo Association summer concert series.
2008
Brooke spent most
of the year being a full time mommy to her first child! She did make
time for about 100 shows and various professional activities. Here
are the highlights:
January- released her "Lover’s Lullaby" CD. It is acoustic, soothing
music for all ages. It features mostly cover songs but also a few
originals including “Just Our Town.”
June 7 -- Brooke played with her band at The Temecula Wine and
Balloon Festival.
In August Brooke Performed with BJ Thomas (“Hooked on
a Feelin,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin on My Head,” “I Just Can’t Help
Believin”) at The Coach House. This was a hoot because Brooke remembers these songs
from when she was very small, and these songs are classics!
Earlier in the year she performed with Richard Marx (“Right Here
Waiting for You”, “Hold on to the Night”, “Endless Summer Nights”,
“Now and Forever”).
Her newest favorite venue is the Coffee Gallery Backstage. It is a
50 seat little theater near Pasadena. She performs here regularly
with her musicians and did her holiday concert here in December.
These are special nights of music!
2007
The biggest news
of 2007 were Brooke’s marriage and pregnancy! Needless to say, her
performance schedule slowed down greatly as her pregnancy advanced.
However, here are a few noteworthy shows:
She played the Coach House several times- headlining, opening for
Vonda Shepard (Ally McBeal), and co-headlining with AJ Croce (son of
Jim Croce).
She did several outdoor summer concerts with her band. Her favorite
was at Lake Mission Viejo where she performed for thousands of
people along with Rocco De Luca. It was a gorgeous night on the lake
(7-7-7!). She had her full band including her cello player and loved
every minute on stage, especially the sing along of “Bad Day,”
waving arms and all!
The television show “Drawn Together” continues to feature her song
“I Wanted You to Know” and has used it on at least four episodes.
Her daughter was born on December 29, 2007. She is named after
Brooke’s grandmother- Luella Rose.
2006
December -- Brooke
appeared on a morning news show in Kansas City over the Christmas
holidays and also did a show back in her hometown.
December 3 --
Brooke did a show with Melissa Manchester ("Ice Castles", "Don't Cry
Out Lout", Midnight Blue"). Melissa was one of Brooke's early
influences so it was an honor to share the stage with her.
November 14 --
Brooke did a band show at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip in
Hollywood.
Summer -- Brooke
again appeared at the LA County Fair. This year she split the
stage with Latin guitarist Benise.
Brooke's song "Let
It Out" was be featured in the film "Bonneville",
starring Jessica Lang, Kathy Bates, Joan Allen, and Christine
Baranski. "Bonneville" debuted at the Toronto film
festival in September.
Brooke is
featured in the ninth episode of a new PBS show called "Branson Jubilee",
which is airing nationwide this summer and fall. Brooke's
performance includes "When I Saw You See Me", "Let It Out", and
"Landslide". The episode also features The Dillards and
guest stars Bill Medley.
Summer -- The
WB used Brooke's song "Someday" throughout the summer on
commercials for its hit series, "Gilmore Girls".
August-November --
Brooke participated in NBC's music competition, "Star
Tomorrow", making it to the final round.
Brooke appeared at
The Coach House several times, opening for Raul Malo (of "The Mavericks") and John Corbett
(of "Northern Exposure" and "Sex and the City"),
opening for Howard Jones, and headlining with her band.
Brooke sang
background vocals for Ziggy Marley's CD, "Love Is My Religion",
released on July 2.
2005
MGM used
Brooke's song "Now" in the trailer for the DVD release of "Kiss
the Bride".
October --
Brooke's original song "Someday" was used in the commercial for
NBC's new series, "Three Wishes".
Summer -- Brooke
performed many nights at the LA County Fair. This is a
wonderful place to reach huge numbers of new fans. And, it's
always tons of fun at the fair!
August 15 --
Brooke's song, "A Long Way", is featured on ABC Family's new
series, "Beautiful People".
July -- Brooke
finishes recording her latest CD, "By Request", which
is a guitar/vocal CD of her most requested songs at shows.
The CD features guitar/vocal versions of two of her songs, along
with her most requested cover tunes, three in French.
July 4 -- Her
favorite outdoor summer concert with her band was the July 4th
celebration in La Mirada. She played along with "The Answer"
and enjoyed the fireworks after her set on a beautiful July night in
Southern California.
In addition to
headlining with her band, Brooke's shows at The Coach House Brooke
included opening for David Wilcox, Deana Carter, Duncan Sheik, and
one of Brooke's musical influences, Shawn Colvin.
2004
October --
Brooke's song, "I Wanted You to Know", was heard on Comedy
Central's "Drawn Together".
Brooke
returned to the studio to record a new CD of all original
material, "Turn It Around", which was released
in September. Brooke's new creative partner, Mike Busbee
(known as "busbee") wrote the songs with Brooke, and produced
the album.
Summer --
Brooke performs with her band at a number of summer concert
events throughout Southern California, including Aliso Viejo,
Laguna Hills, Rialto, Ladera Ranch, and La Cañada. She
also performs for the first time at the Sawdust Festival in
Laguna Beach, California.
April 18 --
Brooke opens again for Vonda Shepard at The Coach
House in San Juan Capistrano.
2003
December 14 --
Brooke and her band headline a holiday show at The Coach House
in San Juan Capistrano. Earlier in the year she opened for
Vonda Shepard.
September 7 -- 95.5 KLOS,
one of the premier rock radio stations in Southern California,
featured Brooke's music for a second time on its "Local Licks"
show.
A remix of
Brooke's song "If You Love Me" was included on "Home", a
compilation CD to benefit Children International that was
released during the summer. The CD is available at www.homecd.net.
Brooke
recorded two songs for Disney's "Air Bud Spikes Back",
which was released on DVD and video during the summer.
March 23
-- HBO's "Six Feet Under" used Brooke's song "As For Me".
March 3
-- NBC's "Meet My Folks" used another of Brooke's song -- "Make
Tomorrow Up".
March 1
-- Brooke's CD "Be" and song "Only" were recognized by the Just Plain Folks music awards in the
pop album and pop song categories. "Someday" was also
nominated in the Best Pop Song category.
January
-- NBC's "Meet My Folks" used Brooke's song "Walk Through
The Flowers".
January
-- Two of Brooke's songs -- "Anything" and "The Answer" were
selected for a customizable "Dawson's Creek" soundtrack that's
available on www.dawsonscreek.com.
2002
December 2002
-- Brooke was nominated for three Just Plain
Folks music awards. She received a nomination for Best
Pop Album of the Year for "Be", and nominations for Best
Pop Song of the Year for "Someday" and "Only". The
awards
show was held in March 2003.
In the fall, two motion pictures
featured Brooke's original music. Stealing Harvard, from Sony Pictures, stars Tom Green, Jason
Lee and Dennis Farina.
Listen for Brooke's song "Anything", from "Tulips Bleed". The Warner Brothers motion picture White Oleander features Brooke's song "Someday" from "Be". The
film stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Renee Zellweger and Robin Wright
Penn.
April 7 -- Kelly Cox on 95.5 KLOS,
one of the premier rock radio stations in Southern California,
featured six songs from "Be" -- "Superhuman World", "No
Fear", "If You Love Me", "Someday", "Now", and "Colors" -- on
her program "Local Licks". That same week,
"Make Tomorrow Up" was used on a commercial for the hit WB
series, "Dawson's Creek".
Winter -- The WB Network's new series "Glory Days"
featured five of Brooke's songs -- "Someday"
and "Now" (both from "Be") on February 6 and 13,
respectively, two songs from "Tulips Bleed"
("Goodbye" and "Tornado") on February 20,
and "Be" on March 18 -- and made Brooke a
featured artist. And three of Brooke's songs -- "Make Tomorrow Up", "Love Is Gonna
Find Me", and "Movie Star" -- were used on the NBC
Saturday morning series "All About Us".
Brooke started
off the year by releasing her fourth album
of original material, "Be".
2001
In October and November Brooke returned to the Midwest for her second tour of the area.
Besides playing in local venues, Brooke performed at a number of
schools and brought her positive message to the
students and staff. This visit was written up in the
Johnson County Sun newspaper -- click here to read the article and find out more about Brooke's school
visits.
The motion
picture "Tart" featured two of Brooke's songs from Tulips
Bleed -- "Time Space and Distance" and "The Answer".
And "Venus and Mars", starring Lynn Redgrave, featured
"Anything" from Tulips Bleed.
During the summer Brooke performed with her band (including an awesome string
section) at a
number of really great events -- mostly
outdoor events. In July,
Brooke opened for Sophie B. Hawkins at the Galaxy Concert
Theatre and in September she performed a series of concerts
at the L.A. County Fair with her fantastic band of highly
talented musicians.
During July and August Brooke opened for some amazing acts
at the Fashion Island Summer Concert Series,
performing to an average of 2,000 people per concert! The headliners included Christopher Cross, Starship, Royal Crown
Revue, The Nelsons, Scott Wilke, and A
Flock of Seagulls.
In April, Brooke completed a very successful tour in Kansas. She
played at a number of schools in Kansas during the week and
then also performed at local venues on the weekend.
Brooke opened for
the extremely talented Jonatha Brooke at the Coach House in San
Juan Capistrano on March 29. She is a wonderful
singer/guitarist/songwriter. Brooke had a lot of fun and also
managed to play a few of her new songs.
In March, Brooke traveled
to Nashville where she wrote six news songs for the soon-to-be released album, "Be".
On February 18th, Brooke
opened to a capacity crowd for Shawn
Colvin at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.
2000
Brooke appeared on an episode of the hit TV show "7th Heaven" on December 11, 2000, singing the title track
of her new CD "Make Tomorrow Up". This episode was aired for a
second time on March 19, 2001 and has been
seen many times since in syndication.
The new NBC TV show "Ed" used Brooke's song "Anything", from
"Tulips Bleed", on their November 12,
2000 episode.
Late in the
year Brooke finished shooting her first music video to "Make
Tomorrow Up" (the title track of her third album) directed
by Robert Cassard for Edge Films.
On October 8, 2000, Brooke opened again for her musical hero, David
Wilcox at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, California.
She says it was one of her favorite shows of all time.
In September 2000 Brooke performed with her band for the one year
anniversary of The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. They performed
outside in a traditional French street fair, singing in both
English and French.
Summer --
Brooke records and releases her third CD of original music, "Make
Tomorrow Up".
Brooke and her band performed twice at Universal CityWalk
in Los Angeles, on a stage next to the movie theatres.
June 30, 2000 -- 95.9 The Mix interviewed Brooke on air and played her song "The Answer". They were hosting the Taylor Dayne
show earlier in the week -- where they saw Brooke perform -- and invited her to be on the air!
Brooke performed the National Anthem on June 29, 2000, at Staples Center before the LA Avengers Arena Football game. She performed a cappella in front of thousands of people! It was sponsored and broadcast by KIIS-FM, so if you think you heard her on the radio saying, "I'm Brooke, and I'm
singing the National Anthem," you were right!
April 5, 2000 -- A second song from "Tulips Bleed"
-- "Anything" is featured on an episode of the WB Network's "Dawson's
Creek".
March 1, 2000 -- Brooke's song "The Answer", from "Tulips Bleed", was featured on an episode of "Dawson's Creek"
on the WB Network, and she is an "Artist in the Spotlight" on the Dawson's Creek

1999
Brooke performs over 250 gigs in 1999.
"The Answer" is featured on the hit WB Network television series "Charmed".
Brooke continues
playing LA clubs, and shares a stage with acts such as Vonda
Shephard, Beth Hart, Richie Furay, Bernie Taupin and the Farm
Dogs, and David Wilcox.
1998
Brooke records and releases her second CD, "Tulips
Bleed".
The hit Fox television series "Party
of Five" becomes the first of many television series to feature Brooke's
music, using her song "Down” in
one of its episodes.
Brooke receives her first radio airplay when
KROQ radio celebrity Rodney Bingenheimer debuted her song "Mainstream" and chose it for his "Top 5 Picks of the Week".
1997
Brooke puts together her first band and
starts playing small Los Angeles clubs.
Brooke
performs for the first time at the legendary Los Angeles club
The Troubador.
1996
Brooke records and releases her debut CD,
"Movie Star".
